Ohio man holds 'I'm a bully' sign on corner for harassing woman and her disabled children

A Ohio man spent five hours on Sunday holding a sign saying "I'm a bully" at a busy intersection in South Euclid, Ohio,  as part of his punishment for his continuous harassment of a woman and her disabled children over a period of fifteen years.

According to cleveland.com, Edmond Aviv, 62, was ordered to stand at the intersection for five hours holding a sign that read: ""I AM A BULLY! I pick on children that are disabled, and I am intolerant of those that are different from myself. My actions do not reflect an appreciation for the diverse South Euclid community that I live in."

Aviv pleaded no contest to a fourth-degree misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct for harassing neighbor Sandra Prugh and her family over the past 15 years. Prugh has two adult adopted children with developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy and epilepsy, her husband suffers from dementia, and she has a paralyzed son.

Municipal Court Judge Gayle Williams-Byers sentenced Aviv to to 15 days in jail, seven months on probation, 100 hours of community service, and anger management classes.

In a letter to the court, Prugh said that Aviv called her a "monkey momma." The letter says Aviv used the slur while she held her two adopted African-American children with disabilities. Pugh also claimed that Aviv regularly threw dog feces on her son's car windshield and that he once smeared feces on wheelchair ramp the family had built for their disabled children.

Aviv has also been accused of spitting on Prugh.

According to court records, Aviv attempted to sue the Prugh family in 2010 because  he said the smell from their clothes dryer bothered him. After the case was thrown out, Aviv allegedly dumped fabric softener on Prugh's lawn.

Aviv then constructed a device that blew the smell of kerosene onto the Prugh's property until it was ordered dismantled by firefighters and policemen who had been called out.

Stating that she just wants to live in peace, Sandra Prugh said that the family couldn't move to get away from Aviv because they had spent so much money making their home wheelchair accessible.

Aviv has been convicted three other times for harassment involving his neighbors.
