Oregon woman loses $500 worth of sex toys in car break-in

A thief in Sandy, Oregon made off with multiple people's possessions in a series of car break-ins at an apartment complex. But, according to Portland's Fox 12 News, one of the five victims had a more exotic list of items to report stolen, a cache of sex toys she said she'd assembled for a bachelorette party.

"I can't believe it," said Chelsey Coutts said to Fox 12's Ben Senger. "I'm still in shock."

Worse, said Coutts, than losing the items to a thief was having to inventory them for a peace officer. "It was horrible," she said. "(The officer) kind of started laughing, but he felt bad so he asked me to describe everything in detail, and it was just horrible."

The mother of two had been storing the items in the trunk of her car because she didn't want the children "to see all the dirty things in there," which she described as an assortment of "dolls, blow-up items" and "all kinds of goodies."

Coutts said it took her months and about $500 to assemble the collection, but that she and the other guests at the party will make do.

Bride-to-be Haleigh Kirby said, "It broke my heart. Chelsey's worked so hard for so long on all this, and she's done a really good job, and it's just sad to see someone come and take all that away like that. I don't even know what they could use it for."

But, Kirby said, "It's going to be fun no matter what."

The women posted about the theft on Facebook and say they have received donations to replace some of the items, but Fox 12 declined to specifically enumerate what was given.
