Oscar-nominated actor Sam Shepard dead at 73

Oscar-nominated actor and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Sam Shepard has died, according to TMZ. He was 73 years old.

He was battling Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) -- also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease -- and died at his home in Kentucky.
