Ossoff's GOP opponent Handel: 'I do not support a livable wage'
June 06, 2017
During her debate with Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff for the Georgia Congressional seat vacated by now-Health Secretary Tom Price, Republican candidate Karen Handel stated that she does not "support a livable wage."
When asked if she supports a minimum wage increase, Handel responded by saying "this is an example of the fundamental difference between a liberal and a conservative."
"I do not support a livable wage," Handel continued. "What I support is making sure that we have an economy that is robust, with low taxes, and less regulation" on small businesses that would be "dramatically hurt" by the imposition of a higher minimum wage.
