A federal judge slammed two Trump administration officials on Monday for making statements in court that the judge reasoned were "simply inaccurate," according to a new report.
Politico reported on Monday that U.S. District Court Judge Waverly Crenshaw said Attorney General Pam Bondi and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem have made inaccurate public remarks about a high-profile immigrant named Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was deported to El Salvador earlier this year before being brought back.
For instance, Crenshaw said Bondi violated court rules about opining on evidence when she described Abrego Garcia as an “MS-13 gang member, human trafficker, serial domestic abuser, and child predator.”
“Government employees have made extrajudicial statements that are troubling, especially where many of them are exaggerated if not simply inaccurate,” wrote Crenshaw in a court filing. “These statements made allegations regarding Abrego’s ‘character or reputation’ and expressed government officials’ views on Abrego’s ‘guilt or innocence.’"
