I Has Tough Questions Too!
October 26, 2008
WFTV anchor Barbara West asks the hard questions of Joe Biden. For instance, is Barack Obama a Marxist? Isn't he embarrassed that he encouraged ACORN to register the entire cast of 1977's The Rescuers? Why did he force that poor white girl in Pittsburgh to fake being mugged and disfigured by one of his black friends?
This reminds me of the tough question I had for Sarah Palin: suppose that a pregnant teenage mother was going to smother a baby, but the baby had in its hand the trigger to a bomb that would kill the fetus inside of the mother, but leave the mother otherwise okay. Then, suppose you had a high powered rifle that you could shoot with 100% accuracy at either target, but you only had one bullet. My question, Governor Palin: how do you make that polar bear pin such a stylish accessory?
This reportering thing really isn't hard at all!
Power Line applauds West's "tough questioning", and Newsbusters celebrates the lack of "softball" questions. Of course, West's entire line of questioning was essentially the unrestrained id of the Corner run amok, revealing a basic truth about toughness - the reason that some questions are "tough" is because it's fucking stupid. Her questions were certainly hard to answer, in the same way that someone asking you how many pedophiles you want living in your neighborhood is also a "tough" question.
UPDATE: From comments, the same reporter's interview of John McCain. The questions she asks are just as tough as the ones she asks Joe Biden, by which I mean that they're pretty much the same questions that she asks Joe Biden.
