Pat Robertson tells Wiccan: You're 'nice' -- but you're going to Hell anyway
April 01, 2014
Televangelist Pat Robertson on Tuesday told a Wiccan viewer that he was going to end up in Hell no matter how good of a person he tried to be.
"I'm Wiccan," a viewer name Tim explained to the TV preacher in a letter. "Does that mean by your Christian beliefs that I'm going to Hell?"
Tim added that he was a "good person and I always try to help people when they need it."
But Robertson said that Tim was doomed regardless of how moral he chose to be during his life.
"Being a good person and helping people, when you get to the end of the road and stand in the pearly gates, God's going to say, 'You're one of the nicest people I've ever had to send away from here,'" Robertson said. "Because that doesn't cut it."
"I may also say that witchcraft -- white witchcraft or black witchcraft -- is sinful," he continued. "We are forbidden to deal with those who are witches, those who deal in occult arts."
In the end, Robertson said that Tim had "two strikes" against him, but he could get a Bible and "ask God, 'I want to know what you want me to do.'"
