At least one Republican congressman appears to be in favor of censuring Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) after tweeting out a cartoon video that depicted him murdering Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
During a CNN interview on Thursday, host Wolf Blitzer asked Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) if he'd be supportive a resolution currently being draft to censure Gosar, who earlier this year also spoke at a conference organized by white nationalists.
"My lean would be yes," Kinzinger said. "I don't care if it's a Republican or a Democrat. We cannot in this country, Wolf, get to a point where using anime even, which is creepy in and of itself, or regular videos or even just tweeted threats against a sitting member of Congress can be acceptable. It is never acceptable."
Gosar has claimed that he didn't intend to advocate violence against Ocasio-Cortez, even though the video depicts him stabbing her.
