A private investigator has joined the hunt for slain DNC staffer Seth Rich, who authorities say was fatally shot in July 2016—and whose death has sparked a number of conspiracy theories on the right.
Dan Rice, a retired Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) agent, has been hired as the new lead investigator in a private effort to find Rich’s murderer—even as the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department continues its investigation into the incident.
Rice is working with a “private group” hoping to being “fresh eyes and more money” to the hunt, NBC 4 reports.
