‘You are pure evil’: Ted Cruz gets wrecked for unimaginably awkward tweet about Notre Dame

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Wednesday made a bizarre quip about Disney pledging money to rebuild Paris' Notre Dame cathedral after it burned on Monday — and angered a lot of Twitter users in the process.

In response to a tweet about Disney's $5 million pledge, which Cruz called "wonderful," the Texas Republican and subject of Zodiac Killer conspiracy theories pondered: "Will we see Disney princesses in the new stained glass?"

CNN reporter Betsy Klein wondered: "Did a Cruz daughter hack this account?"

Another user added that Cruz is "proof that no matter how stupid you are, Texans will vote you into office, and keep you there."

Other still noted that the stained glass does not appear to have been harmed in the fire.
