Boaters caught on camera yelling the N-word while harassing Black fisherman

A group of boaters this week were caught on camera harassing a Black fisherman while calling him the N-word.

NBC Miami reports that Florida resident Shannon Bustamante, who runs a fishing-centric YouTube channel, started recording the boaters after they started tailing behind the boat he was on while yelling racial slurs at the boat's Black captain.

The video shows three men in a boat approaching Bustamante's boat and accusing its captain of getting too close to them.

"Shut your f*cking n*gger mouth!" one of the men yelled out at one point.

"Keep your n*gger ass back in town!" one of the men yelled later in the video.

Bustamante tells NBC Miami that he wanted to document the racism that he says is commonly experienced by Black fishermen.

"What worried me and what made me feel bad is that it almost felt like he was getting accustomed to it," he said. "Like, hey, every time we come out here, it's like this. And in my mind, I was like, hell no, this is unacceptable."
