A New York City lawyer filmed in 2018 going on a racist anti-Latino rant has been sued by an ex-client who claims the publicity surrounding the viral video hurt his business.
TMZ reported that attorney Aaron Schlossberg, who in May 2018 was filmed threatening to call ICE on Latino employees at a Fresh Kitchen coffee shop for speaking Spanish, has been sued by his former client Niche Music Group.
The label wants Schlossberg to pay $50,000 in damages because, as the company alleges, his viral tirade and the subsequent publicity it garnered, hurt its reputation and future business opportunities.
Niche hired the attorney in January 2018 to help it fight Sony Music Entertainment -- five months before he was recorded screaming at Spanish-speaking people in Manhattan.
This lawsuit is just the latest in a string of repercussions for Schlossberg, whose identity was revealed after his rant went viral.
He was first stalked by reporters and protesters who showed up with tacos and a Mariachi band, evicted from his office and fielded calls for his disbarment over the racist rant.
It was also revealed that Schlossberg is not a member of the New York Bar Association -- although he advertised that he was on his website.
