HBO "Real Time" host Bill Maher complained about having a small studio audience during the coronavirus pandemic during his opening monologue on Friday.
Maher joked that Republicans would not vote to convict Trump, but it would go on his permanent record.
Maher worried about Trump being so quiet after being banned from social media and leaving the White House.
He said Republicans had a "lunatic problem" as he discussed controversial Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA).
Noting Greene's support for executing Speaker Nancy Pelosi, he wondered what they talk about when they see each other in the elevator.
"She's never met a conspiracy theory she doesn't like," he said, as he discussed the frazzledrip conspiracy theory, which falsely claimed Hillary Clinton raped a mutilated young girl and then wore the girl's face as a mask in a ritual sacrifice.
"Maybe I'm just getting old, but I remember when the craziest thing Republicans believed was trickle-down economics," he said.
