Rep. Cleaver declines to bring guest to Trump speech because 'I wouldn't want to subject anybody else to it'

Rep. Emanuel Cleaver II (D-MO) said on Tuesday that he would attend President Donald Trump's State of the Union Address but he could not in good conscience "subject" a guest to it.

Cleaver told ABC's John Parkinson that he was going to be present for the speech out of a sense of duty.

"I wouldn't want to subject anybody else to it," he added.
