Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy was interrupted by a protester who accused him of "killing people."
During a Senate Finance Committee hearing on Thursday, the protester spoke out just seconds after Kennedy began his opening remarks.
"In just half a year, we've taken on food dies," the secretary said, "baby formula contamination, the grass loophole, fluoride in our drinking water, gas station heroin, electronic cigarettes, drug prices, prior authorization."
At that point, a protester began screaming about prior authorizations that are necessary for some medical procedures.
"You're killing millions of people!" the protester yelled as she was removed from the room.
"I apologize to you for that outburst, Secretary Kennedy," committee chair Mike Crapo (R-ID) remarked. "If there are any further disruptions, the committee will recess until the police can restore order."
