Rick Gates gave Mueller info about Trump team's dealings with secretive Israeli intelligence firm: report

Paul Manafort's former deputy Rick Gates is cooperating with the Mueller probe and has testified about the Trump campaign’s link to an Israeli spy company, reports the Daily Beast.

Gates is testifying in exchange for a more lenient sentencing recommendation for financial crimes he committed alongside Trump campaign advisor Paul Manafort.

The company, Psy Group, run by Lebanese-American businessman Joel Zamel and George Nader, who worked as an emissary for Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, is run out of Israel. They reportedly told Gates they had information that could help the Trump campaign.

“Joel is a very secretive guy, he holds all his cards very close to the chest," a former Psy Op employee told the Daily Beast.
