Former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani is one step closer to being disbarred.
Bloomberg News legal reporter Zoe Tillman reports that a Washington D.C. Bar hearing committee is recommending Giuliani's disbarment over his "frivolous" claims about voter fraud being used to steal the 2020 election from former President Donald Trump.

Tillman notes that this does not mean Giuliani has been officially disbarred, but she does call it "another setback" for the man who was once known as "America's mayor" in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on New York City.
In its report, the committee takes Giuliani to task for "filing a lawsuit seeking to change the result of the 2020 presidential election when he had no factual basis, and consequently no legitimate legal grounds, to do so."
The committee went on to claim that Giuliani's "frivolous lawsuit attempted unjustifiably and without precedent to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvania voters, and ultimately sought to undermine the results of the 2020 presidential election."

All of this leads the committee to conclude that Giuliani has "forfeited his right to practice law" and that "he should be disbarred."
Giuliani isn't the only Trump lawyer to get into hot water for his efforts to illegally keep Trump in the White House.
Earlier this week, fellow former Trump lawyer Lin Wood voluntarily gave up his law license ahead of his potential disbarment, while John Eastman, the author of the so-called "coup memo" that recommended then-Vice President Mike Pence refuse to certify the 2020 election results, is also fighting to save his law license.
