One of the remaining sponsors of Rudy Giuliani's broadcasts is being subpoenaed in the former New York City mayor's ongoing bankruptcy proceedings.
In an 11-page motion on Monday, attorneys for Giuliani's creditors said they intended to subpoena the Tunnels to Towers organization, which sponsors two or more of Giuliani's shows.
The New York Timesdescribed the charity as Giuliani's "financial safety net" as he faced bankruptcy. According to the report, the creditors have claimed Giuliani "has withheld that detail throughout his first five months of bankruptcy proceedings."
Monday's motion sought to remedy that by forcing Tunnel to Towers to reveal its dealings with Giuliani.
The subpoena requests will include "all Documents and Communications concerning any actual, contemplated or proposed contracts or agreements, whether oral or written, formal or informal, entered into between Tunnel to Towers, on the one hand, and the Debtor, any Debtor Related Person, Giuliani Communications, LLC or any other Debtor Related Entity, on the other hand."
Documents concerning support of Uncovering the Truth, The Rudy Giuliani Show, America's Mayor Live "or any other productions or appearances by the Debtor on Media Outlets, including through advertisements, sponsorships or Gifts" would also have to be turned over to the creditors.
Giuliani declared bankruptcy last year after two former election workers won a defamation lawsuit against him.
