Russ Vought, acting director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), confirmed that the Trump administration has set up a "tip line" for companies to snitch on employees of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) who are doing their jobs despite a work stoppage order.
Last week, Vought ordered agency staffers to stop all work, and the bureau's headquarters was shuttered. President Donald Trump also fired Director Rohit Chopra. The CFPB's union said that dozens of employees were also fired.
On Thursday, Vought said the X account had been created so that companies could report staffers who continued their work to protect consumers.
"The CFPB appears to have set up a Twitter account for companies to report CFPB *employees who violate the agency's work stoppage order(s) -- @cfpb_tipline," Punchbowl's Brendan Pedersen reported. "Russ Vought among the first followers."

"Yes, we have," Vought confirmed.
"Are you being pursued by CFPB enforcement or supervision staff, in violation of Acting Director Russ Vought's stand down order? If so, DM us or send an email," the snitch account instructed.
