Sean Hannity blasts 'cowardly' Boehner after 'Cromnibus' bill passes: 'He's Democratic Party-lite'

Fox News host Sean Hannity tore into another conservative, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) on Thursday, questioning his party bonafides following the passage of the $1.1 trillion "Cromnibus" spending bill.

"Michele Bachmann hit the nail on the head," Hannity said. "He never would have done this before the election, he has no inspiring vision, and to me, he's everything that's wrong with Washington. He's Democratic Party-lite."

Hannity also repeatedly compared Boehner to Jonathan Gruber, the consultant who recently apologized before a House committee for disparaging remarks regarding voters' ability to understand the Affordable Care Act.

"Boehner is Gruber, he's full of it," Hannity said.

The bill, which supporters say would avoid the possibility of another government shutdown, passed by a 219-206 vote on Thursday night, less than a week after the bill was introduced. The House also passed a two-day extension measure for government funding while the Senate considers the 1,603-page measure.

Democrats like Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) objected to the bill because of the last-minute addition of a clause allowing financial institutions to trade derivatives alongside regular bank accounts.

But Hannity was upset that the bill included funding for the health care law, commonly known as Obamacare, and the executive order regarding immigration President Barack Obama signed last month.

"He's not doing his job representing an alternative vision for the country," he argued. "This isn't about repealing and replacing Obamacare; it seems that he's cowardly. He has an inordinate fear of being blamed for a shutdown, and no vision to inspire the rest of the country."

At the same time, Hannity, National Review editor Rich Lowery and Tea Party News Network Scottie Hughes commentator found themselves cheering Warren on in her opposition to the bill.

"You'll notice no one called her a nihilist, no one called her an arsonist, no one called her a hostage-taker," Lowery told Hannity.
