Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) ended his run for the presidency on Tuesday night, after losing the Indiana Republican primary.
The Texas Tribune initially reported his departure, citing campaign manager Jeff Roe. CNN's Jake Tapper corroborated the report shortly thereafter.
Despite billing himself as the candidate who could unite the Republican Party, Cruz failed to generate widespread support at the polls against front-runner Donald Trump. Counting his victory in Indiana on Tuesday, the real estate magnate has won six consecutive GOP primaries.
