Seth Meyers couldn't help but notice that President Donald Trump's lawyers have no idea what they're doing.
After their messy opening, Trump's lawyers looked like he found them on a billboard ad or an asbestos commercial, said the "Late Night" host.
When Bruce Caster accidentally called himself the prosecutor, Meyers described it as like your airplane pilot accidentally saying he was driving the cross-town bus.
"It's not good when the first thing you say in court is that you know the difference between the defense and the prosecution," Meyers said. "It's like your pilot getting on the PA and saying, 'Welcome aboard the cross-town bus. Wait, no this is an airplane. Don't worry, I know the difference. I was a bus driver, amigo, so I know what I used to do is different from what I do now. Man, driving a bus was easier. Alright, get your seatbelts on and your tray-tables up. Next stop: 42nd Street.'"
When it came to Castor trying to talk about something he saw in the news, Meyers said he was just outright lost.
"Well, thanks for the specifics, that's very powerful," Meyers said, dripping with sarcasm. "I thought this guy was a 'slip and fall' lawyer but maybe he just slipped and fell on his head. 'My compliments to whoever waxes these Capitol floors! It's like an ice rink in here!'"
While Meyers said it was an important moment for American history, it was clear that Trump's lawyers weren't prepared.
"Instead, Castor meandered aimlessly like he was auditioning to be on one of those sleep apps," Meyers said, playing another clip of Castor rambling about something indiscernible. "I left a voicemail on ecstasy in 1997 that made more sense than this!"
