On Monday's episode of CNN's "The Lead" with Jake Tapper, Rep. Vicente González (D-TX)—who toured the facilities where the children of migrants illegally crossing the border are being incarcerated—tore into President Donald Trump and Attorney General Jeff Sessions for the inhumane policy.
González, who toured the facility on Father's Day, acknowledged that everything appeared clean. But he also observed that the kids weren't playing or doing anything remotely kid-like. "I didn't see a single smile there," González repeatedly told Tapper.
Asked about Jeff Sessions' recent comments that the kids' parents were lawbreakers who had to be prosecuted, González lost it.
"Shame on him!" he said in response to Sessions' apparent disregard for the humanity of migrant families.
