Shatner and Billy Dee pitch 'Star Wars' director on love for Lando and Leia and Chewie love

Jimmy Kimmel took another round of audience questions regarding the Star Wars franchise in an interview with director J.J. Abrams on Wednesday, only to find consensus on an unusual romantic pairing: Princess Leia and Chewbacca the Wookie.
"I agree with those weird people," said Star Trek stalwart William Shatner, concurring with two costume-clad superfans. "Leia and Chewie should do it. They should do it, J.J. I've made some sketches here. It's hot stuff."
Abrams, who is also directing the new Star Trek movie, also got a simple idea from Billy Dee Williams, who played Lando Calrissian in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
"The next Star Wars, nothing but Lando," Williams suggested. "Two hours of Lando and beautiful ladies making love, sweet love, in the galaxy."
Williams' suggestion isn't totally out of left field; not only was Calrissian the subject of twoseparate series within the franchise's book series, but a 2010 YouTube short, "Blackstar Warrior," portrayed him as a blacksploitation hero for sci-fi circles.
And for her part, Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy, also supported the idea while presenting Chewie with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the MTV Movie Awards in 1997, saying, "He's one of the kindlest, gentlest creatures I've ever worked with. I only wish we had love scenes."
