'Felt like someone was going to hang me': Shaye Moss details threats after Giuliani lies
December 12, 2023
Shaye Moss, the former Georgia election worker who was falsely accused by Rudy Giuliani of stuffing ballot boxes for President Joe Biden in 2020, told a court in Washington D.C. on Tuesday about the consequences of the former Trump lawyer's lies about her and her mother, Rudy Freeman.
As reported by NBC News' Ryan Riley, Moss testified that her world was "flipped upside down" in December of 2020 when Giuliani posted a video that falsely accused her and her mother of working to steal the 2020 election from former President Donald Trump.
"All these crazy lies were spread about us on that day," Moss said. "Publicly. Everywhere."
She described going into work on December 4th, 2020 and being shown videos that were promoted by Giuliani, which she said led to an inundation of threatening messages.

"How can someone with so much power go public and talk about things that he obviously has no clue about," Moss explained. "It’s obvious lies."
Moss then explained how she decided to go to a hair stylist that weekend and have her hair redone so that she would be less recognizable, and thus less vulnerable to attacks from angry Trump supporters.
"I was afraid for my life," she testified. "I literally felt like someone is going to come and attempt to hang me."
Moss is testifying in a trial to determine the damages that Giuliani, who was found liable for defamation earlier this year, must pay to her and her mother.
