It's "sickening" that Donald Trump has repeatedly vowed to pardon Jan. 6 offenders, according to a former police officer who was injured during the insurrection attempt.
Former Washington Metropolitan Police Department Officer Michael Fanone appeared on MSNBC on Sunday, where he was asked about the former president's recent statements. Last month, Fanone condemnedTrump for celebrating the rioters as he seeks a second term in office.
"Donald Trump has repeatedly pledged to pardon January 6 insurrectionists. That could include the man who attacked you with a stun gun. What do you think of that possibility?" the host asked over the weekend.

"I think it is sickening," he replied. "I mean the idea that a president or presidential candidate in the United States of America would align himself with individuals who assaulted police officers, who were simply doing their job like myself on January 6th at the United States Capitol."
Fanone was also asked about others who are "still downplaying what happened on January 6th, including Republicans who were there," like Republican Senator J.D. Vance. Vance recently said he thinks the riot represented "a bad day," but said he doubted Mike Pence's life was in danger.
