Stephen Colbert reveals what was going on in Ted Cruz's brain when he short-circuited at Texas debate

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) had an awkward moment during the Texas Senate Debate Tuesday evening and Stephen Colbert turned it into epic mockery.

When asked by the moderators for an example of something good he's done that has nothing to do with his job as Senator, Cruz stood dumbfounded for a series of seconds. He let out a sharp exhale staring at his podium. Ultimately, the audience began to laugh at him.

Wednesday, "The Late Show" uncovered exactly what was happening to Ted Cruz at that moment. Colbert zeroed in on the nerve center of the Cruz brain, which appeared to look remarkably similar to a 1990s version of an iMac's operating system. He clicked on the folder "What I've Actually Done This Year." Inside was another folder reading "Shed Skin," "Bury Eggs," "Eat Rodent Whole," "Warm Self on Rock" and "Home Movies."

Clicking on the folder with movies revealed a black and white video of the sea creature featured in the film "The Shape of Water" except it was titled "Heidi and I Hanging Out At The Pool."

He ultimately clicked on another folder reading "parenting," and Cruz answered being a father.
