Trump spokesman kicked out of E. Jean Carroll trial after his phone alarm goes off

The Messenger is reporting that Trump spokesman Steven Cheung got kicked out of the E. Jean Carroll damages trial on Thursday after his phone alarm went off in court.
According to the publication, Judge Lewis Kaplan stopped proceedings as soon as he heard Cheung's alarm go off and demanded to know whose phone was making the noise.
When Cheung raised his hand, Kaplan wasted no time ordering security guards to dispatch with him.
"Take this man out of here," he ordered.

The Messenger notes that Cheung should have expected this kind of quick rebuke from the no-nonsense Kaplan.
"Over the years, Kaplan made no secret about having a pet peeve about electronic devices while court is in session," the publication writes. "His regular courtroom has a 'No Smoking'-style sign outside the doors with a cellphone in a crossed out circle.
"Trump’s ongoing trial is taking place inside a different room, but court security officers make a habit of instructing spectators not to bring any inside the proceedings."
