Trump vows to attend hush money hearing as Stormy Daniels case nears trial: report
February 13, 2024
Former President Donald Trump will be in New York on Thursday to attend a hearing about the criminal hush money charges brought against him by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, reported Axios on Tuesday.
The case, which alleges that Trump criminally falsified his business records to conceal a hush payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels to keep an affair quiet in the runup to the 2016 presidential election, is currently slated to be the first of Trump's criminal charges to move to trial.
His other cases are either suspended pending immunity appeals, or likely to be pushed further back due to procedural hurdles.
"Several of Trump's court cases could see significant developments in the coming days," noted reporter Erin Doherty. This hearing will involve the judge ruling on a series of motions made by the former president's legal team, which could potentially decide whether the case can move forward as planned on March 25.

This comes shortly after other reports that Trump plans to attend a hearing in the Georgia election racketeering case that will investigate allegations of misconduct brought against prosecutor Fani Willis, who has admitted to having a relationship with one of the special prosecutors she hired onto the case.
Judge Scott McAfee, who is overseeing this case, has ruled that Willis could potentially face disqualification if some of the claims made by one of Trump's co-defendants are true.
