Supreme Court Justices may be fearing for their lives after Donald Trump's response to their legal smackdown, according to a Jan. 6 investigator.
Temidayo Aganga-Williams, an attorney who served as an investigator for the House Jan. 6 committee, appeared on MS NOW over the weekend, where he was asked about Trump's response to the Supreme Court ruling that limited the president's power to tack on new tariffs on a whim.
According to Aganga-Williams, Trump went personal because he nominated these justices. But there could be dangerous consequences, he warned.
"It'salways about the person. Andhere I think what's stark is thathe cannot hide behind whoappointed them. These are folksthat he appointed, that hepicked, that he shook theirhands and nominated them andespoused how great they are.And even they came down againsthim. So he has to go down toattacking them personally, which I think is incredibly, incredibly dangerous becauseit's one thing to say a judgegot it wrong," the lawyer said. "When you attackthe person, you suggest thatthe way to rectify this is withthat person. And in a world ofpolitical violence, I think weget closer and closer toteaching the American peoplethat what they have to do torectify their needs is not gothrough institutions, butinstead something far moredangerous. And I think that'sthe path we're down."
