Donald Trump and Elon Musk may be "breaking up" soon, according to a conservative commentator.
Conservative political pundit Charlie Sykes published an interview on Sunday featuring Politico's Jonathan Martin. The piece is entitled, "Are Trump and Musk breaking up?"
The short answer to that important question, according to Sykes, is, "Not yet. But something is afoot."

Sykes goes on to encourage observers to take note of four things related to the "trouble in MAGA paradise." Specifically, he focused on events surrounding a recent "explosive" Musk meeting during which Marco Rubio purportedly shouted about Musk's actions.
- "Trump World is rattled and in CYA-mode about Musk’s cuts."
- "Trump gave a green light to cabinet members to go after Musk, blame him for reckless cuts, and call him a liar."
- "Trump may have clipped his fellow megalomaniac’s wings."
- "The whole story leaked out."
Sykes went on to say, "Some of this was inevitable, because the laws of human gravity make it impossible for two sociopathic megalomaniacs to occupy the same space, so maybe the only surprise is that it has taken so long."
For his part, Martin agreed with Sykes that Musk won't go away easily.
"I tend to agree with you that there's not going to be an explosive break up tomorrow. This is not going to end in a bang," Martin told Sykes. "I think it ends in more of a whimper."
Martin went on to quote a senior Republican close to Trump, who reportedly admitted that the "air is going to come out of the balloon."
