Fox News host Sean Hannity wants to lock down the halls of the U.S. Congress, banning the public from the building for "safety" reasons after protestors inundated the building to protest the nomination of accused rapist Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.
On Friday night, Cruz told the story of . The Texas Republican was confronted over his policies while trying to eat an expensive mean with his wife, Heidi.
"Unfortunately somehow the protestors were there waiting for us," Cruz said. "As we walked in they surrounded us, they screamed at us, they basically shut down the restaurant."
Cruz then told a part of the story that has not yet been reported—what happened after he escaped the restaurant and went outside into an alley.
"This mob of about 15 screaming leftist protestors chased Heidi and me down the alley, screaming and yelling at us," Cruz said. "A waiter from the restaurant let us in the back door to the kitchen and we took shelter in the kitchen with this screaming mob outside."
Cruz then bragged about how he got to finish his meal after the police came and "took the protestors away."
