Ted Cruz insists Biden whistleblower is credible because he's a 'gay Democrat married to a man'

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) argued that an IRS whistleblower was more credible than other officials because the "gay Democrat" would have had no reason to lie about President Joe Biden's son Hunter.

On his Verdict podcast this week, Cruz blasted U.S. Attorney David Weiss and Attorney General Merrick Garland because Biden's son was not expected to face jail time for a plea deal related to tax crimes.

"The Biden White House desperately, desperately, desperately wants to close the door on all investigations on Joe Biden," Cruz said. "Not a day in jail, served no jail time at all, for millions of dollars in tax fraud, and David Weiss nowhere addresses the most serious allegations in the whistleblowers' claims, which are that DOJ blocked any and all investigations into Joe Biden's corruption."

"At this point, the statements between Merrick Garland and David Weiss on one side, and the two IRS whistleblowers on the other side are entirely in conflict," he continued. "The whistleblowers, as I've noted, we have no reason to think they're lying."

Cruz said one of the whistleblowers could be believed because he is "a gay Democrat who's married to a man."

"Both of them are career IRS employees," he added. "Neither of them have any indication that they're in any way, shape, or form Republican."
