‘The greatest treasure is you’: Ivanka sprinkles wisdom at India conference by saying they are like ‘pearls’

During her trip to India, Ivanka Trump spoke to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Hyderabad.

'In this city of pearls, the greatest treasure is you the people... India will grow under Prime Minister Modi," Trump told the audience.

Hyderabad was historically known as a pearl and diamond trading city and continues to be called the "City of Pearls." A 2011 documentary film "City of Pearls: A Tale of Neglected People," showed the city in a different light, highlighting the absurd difference between the high-rise buildings, malls and overpasses contrasted with the overwhelming poverty and the lack of basic utilities and necessities in the slums.

Ivanka delivered her lines as the cameras panned to show the tepid crowd. The summit's focus was listed as "Women First, Prosperity for All, and will focus on supporting women entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth globally."

The summit was designed to be a global summit and isn't isolated to Hyderabad or India.
