‘This defies logic’: CNN Don Lemon rips Trump for not believing crime stats on border wall

On Monday, CNN's Don Lemon said that President Donald Trump's actions "defy logic" after he refused to believe multiple reports about facts and statics about the US-Mexico border.

President Donald Trump held a rally in El Paso, Texas and claimed that the crime had gone down in the city since a barrier was built.

Even after the mayor of El Paso fact-checked the president on his statistics, he failed to believe them.

Trump said the mayor was "full of crap."

"I don't care whether a mayor is a Republican or a Democrat. They're full of crap when they say it hasn't made a big difference. I heard the same thing from the fake news. They said, oh, 'crime actually stayed the same.' It didn't stay the same. It went way down," Trump said.

Lemon said that Trump only believes facts that fit his agenda.

"It defies logic. The person who is running the city of El Paso, who is the mayor, who only has the citizens of El Paso's best interests at heart, who is reading facts and giving him facts, but none of that matters because it doesn't fit with his reality," Lemon said.

"So what the hell is going on?" Lemon asked former GOP spokesperson Tara Setmayer.

"What's going on is gaslighting, and it's the president who has backed himself into a corner with this BS," she said.
