Fox News personality Geraldo Rivera unleashed the fury of Twitter on Sunday after posting a "selfie" he took at the funeral for a slain New York City police officer.
Rivera was one of tens of thousands who attended the funeral for Wenjian Liu, who was fatally shot along with his colleague in Brooklyn on December 20 as he sat in his squad car.
The killer, Ismaaiyl Brinsley, posted on social media that he planned to gun down NYPD officers in revenge for the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner. The double-murder ignited a rift between the city's mayor and the police force.
During the funeral, Rivera posted a selfie on Twitter, along with a brief message calling for unity:
Twitter users were clearly upset by Rivera's lack of decorum.
Many users also joked at least Rivera was fully clothed, a reference to a topless selfie he posted last year.
Some conservative tweeters attacked Geraldo as a liberal.
While others noted the Fox News host's actual political affiliation.
