Tim Scott: It’s ‘good news’ SC is banning abortion before most women know they are pregnant

Republican presidential candidate Tim Scott (SC) celebrated what he said was "good news" after South Carolina moved closer to banning abortion before most women even know they are pregnant.

During a campaign stop on Wednesday, Scott was asked about the state legislature's decision to send a 6-week abortion ban to the governor's desk.

"I think the state is trying to protect the culture of life, and that's good news," he said. "I think the heartbeat bill is a step in the direction of that."

Scott has previously dodged questions about supporting a 15-week abortion ban.
