TLC drops 'Gypsy Sisters' show after cast member's husband accused of brutally killing puppy

The TLC Network -- already reeling from the Josh Duggar molestation scandal that forced them to drop their highest rated show, 19 Kids and Counting -- has dropped "Gypsy Sisters" in the wake of allegations that a cast member's husband killed her puppy.

According to TMZ,  the low-rated show about a family of "gypsies" in West Virginia was close to being canceled already before cast member Mellie Stanley posted on Facebook that her husband, Randall Scott Vuncannon, had thrown her puppy across the room in a fit of rage, killing it.

Police arrived at the home of Stanley and Vuncannon, to find her in the street after Vuncannon allegedly fought with her. According to police reports, Stanley told officers her husband "went crazy, picked up the dog and slung her across the kitchen as hard as he could." Entering the home, police found the dog dead on the floor.

When word of her husband's arrest got out, Stanley wrote on Facebook (all spellings verbatim): "Yes Skott got angry and was going off for no dam reason because I asked him to help me pay the bills and he needed to step up and be responsible and her threw my dog cause it went to bark at him and tried to bite his leg no one taking up for Skott he's in trouble for what he done and has been charged with animal cruelty that was my innocent puppy that could have been one of my babies he's never allowed back around me again I got a fpo and its staying that way."

TLC had previously stated that Vulcannon -- who was not a formal cast member on the show -- would not longer appear, however poor ratings and the bad publicity likely made the network -- which had taken back to back hits over molestation charges on the Duggar and Here Comes Honey Boo Boo shows --  pull the plug.

Gypsy Sisters debuted on TLC in 2013.
