Tom Morello super group will crash the GOP convention to Make America Rage Again

Discussion on MSNBC's morning talk show, Morning Joe, turned on Friday to plans by musician Tom Morello to play at the 2016 Republican National Convention.

Fill-in hosts Mark Barnicle, Elise Jordan, Mark Halperin and John Heilemann were discussing Morello and his fellow musicians, including two others from Morello's Rage Against the Machine, Chuck D from Public Enemy and B-Real from Cypress Hill, who have joined to form a "" of rockers known for their left-wing politics.

"After doing a bunch of shows, they're going to go to the Republican convention in July and try to bust up the joint," Heilemann said of the group.

The group has already played at the famed club in Los Angeles.

The MSNBC hosts showed an earlier clip of Morello speaking to reporters, saying, "One of the things that has irked me greatly is the way that the media has talked about both the Trump campaign and the Sanders campaign, as both of them are 'raging against the machine' he said. "We we're going to set that record straight once and for all what it really means to Rage Against the Machine."

Morello called candidate Donald Trump a "racist demagogue," Bernie Sanders a "dreamer" and Hillary Clinton the "lesser of three evils" and said none of those three choices are good enough.

"Well there's a thing called the Republican National Convention in July, and that will be a perfect place for a band like Prophets of Rage to cause a ruckus, and we will be there on the streets, in the field," Morello told Bloomberg Politics. "We have a venue and there may be venues that will be spontaneous venues, it's hard to say. This is the kind of thing you don't broadcast to the local authorities prior to arrival."
