A MAGA pastor called on President Donald Trump to cross what he described as a "Rubicon" on Thursday during a podcast interview, according to a new report.
Right Wing Watch reported that MAGA pastor Joel Webbon, whom the organization described as a "fascist Christian nationalist," called on Trump to "round up" people who disagree with his deportation policies. People that should be targeted, according to Webbon, include "judges, mayors, governors, and any other elected officials."
"If Trump is going to have a lasting legacy, he is going to have to cross a Rubicon and say, 'Enough is enough,'" Webbon said. "The judges, the mayors, the governors. Not just a sternly-worded tweet. No, armed guards (sic) throwing them in jail. These are traitors to the United States."
Trump's deportation policies have been hotly criticized in both the courts and among community members. Some courts have prevented the Trump administration from deploying additional federal troops to cities to protect immigration agents during their operations.
Videos of masked immigration officials snatching people off the streets have been shared widely online, and the tactics have led to local protests.
"Thousands of officials over the last five, six years have committed treason," Webbon said. "They need to be rounded up and thrown in prison."
