President Donald Trump shared a slideshow of photos Wednesday showing himself alongside prominent Black figures in what appeared to be an effort to rebut accusations of bigotry – only one of the photos showed him alongside Sean Combs, who last year was found guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution after being charged with sex trafficking and racketeering.
On his social media platform Truth Social, Trump shared a social media post published by Mila Joy, a MAGA influencer with nearly 500,000 followers on X. In the post, Joy included a video that included a slideshow of photographs of Trump with prominent Black figures, along with the sarcastic caption: “A timeline of Trump’s bigotry.”
Trump added his own commentary to Joy’s post in a separate social media post, writing: “How quickly people forget,” and “So sad!”
Set to soft, emotional music, the slideshow shows Trump posing alongside Jesse Jackson, Oprah Winfrey, Will Smith, and countless other notable Black figures. And among them was a 1997 photograph with Combs, better known as P. Diddy.
In 2024, Combs’ homes were infamously raided by Homeland Security officials and subsequently charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution, following a high-profile accusation of rape from his former girlfriend Cassandra Ventura.
In a trial covered extensively in the media, Combs was ultimately convicted on only the transportation to engage prostitution charge, and was sentenced to 50 months in prison.
Editor's note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Combs had "pleaded guilty" to transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs pleaded not guilty to all charges against him, but was found guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution by a jury. Raw Story regrets this error, which has been corrected.
