Donald Trump and speaker Mike Johnson have both praised Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) for her response to Joe Biden's State of the Union address, but several of the ex-president's close allies aren't so sure.
Britt, a young woman who gave her Biden reply from her sparse kitchen, was roundly criticized for her delivery, among other things. The presentation was so odd that it caused some MAGA fans to revolt against Trump on Truth Social.
While some, such as Trump ally Mark Levin, said Britt's job was "well done," others have sounded the alarm.

Trump adviser Roger Stone was one who felt Britt should have performed better.
"I guess Katie Britt just failed her vice presidential audition," Stone said Friday. "Godawful."
Jack Posobiec, a right-wing host and activist, said, "Did Katie Britt even mention Trump once?"
Another Trump ally, Mike Davis, worked with Britt and hailed her performance. After pushback from the commenters, however, he qualified his assessment by saying he is biased.
"Katie Britt is the new GOP all-star," he said. He then added, "Brutal crowd. Katie and I served as Senate staffers together. Before she won her seat. She’s an incredibly funny, smart, and effective person. So I’m biased."
Trump superfan Laura Loomer, who has been floated as a possible interim press secretary if Trump were to win a second term in the White House, also had thoughts.
"The GOP thinks they know what women like. So they actually thought it would be a good idea to put [Britt] in her kitchen reading a script with forced emotion and fake outrage to get to suburban women vote," the independent journalist said on Friday. "Women like men. Actually, We love strong men. We don’t need a woman in a kitchen who failed acting class to tell us our country is a mess."
