'Wonderful champions!' Trump gives full-throated endorsement to 2 candidates in same race

President Donald Trump made two endorsements for the same race in a post to his Truth Social platform on Monday evening — giving the nod to two separate politicians for governor of Arizona.

"I like Karrin Taylor Robson of Arizona a lot, and when she asked me to Endorse her, with nobody else running, I Endorsed her, and was happy to do so," wrote Trump. "When Andy Biggs decided to run for Governor, quite unexpectedly, I had a problem — Two fantastic candidates, two terrific people, two wonderful champions, and it is therefore my Great Honor TO GIVE MY COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT TO BOTH."

"Either one will never let you down. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!" Trump added.

The Arizona governor election will see incumbent Democrat Katie Hobbs seeking re-election, after four years of navigating a closely-divided but GOP-controlled legislature in a swing state that backed former President Joe Biden Biden in 2020 and Trump in 2024.

Robson, who also ran for governor in 2022 but lost the primary to hardcore Trump loyalist and former Phoenix news anchor Kari Lake, has pushed soft conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election, claiming that the contest "wasn't fair" to Trump.

Biggs, who represents the southeastern suburbs and exurbs of Phoenix and previously chaired the House Freedom Caucus, is a much more outspoken Trump supporter. He recently called on the FBI to criminally investigate Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) for giving a political speech in which one of the attendees shouted about guillotines while she discussed tech billionaire Elon Musk.
