Trump uses nursing student's killing to unleash furious rant against Biden

Donald Trump unleashed a furious rant against "gangs and gang members" who he says are "pouring into our Country from South America, and from all over the World" from the U.S.-Mexico border — and he took aim at President Joe Biden who he said was letting them in.

"They are being FORCED out of their Countries, in particular Venezuela and Mexico, and DEPOSITED into the Good Ole’ USA by the tens of thousands. But here’s the 'wrinkle.' THEY REFUSE TO TAKE THESE CRIMINALS BACK," Trump wrote in his usual erratic style.

Trump's post comes in the wake of the murder of nursing student Laken Hope Riley on the campus of the University of Georgia. Jose Antonio Ibarra, who was in the U.S. illegally from Venezuela, was charged with her murder. Officials said he illegally crossed the Texas border and was paroled and released for further processing.

"They think Biden and his Administration are a JOKE! 'They go after TRUMP, but they leave us alone. We can do whatever we want,' one of them recently stated. Not being able to bring the worst of humanity back to where they came from is a BIG problem for the U.S. Biden will NEVER be able to handle it," Trump wrote.

According to the Trump, the surge of migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border is "a COUNTRY DESTROYING EVENT!!!"

"Just think of it — Foreign countries will be sending us their WORST, Gang Members, Murderers, Drug Dealers, Human Traffickers, Terrorists, their Mentally ILL, and even others, sick people, who need large scale medical help, and they have told the World, 'WE WILL NEVER TAKE THEM BACK.' Biden is destroying our Country — 'GO AFTER TRUMP!'"

According to reports, U.S. Border Patrol Agents have apprehended more than 12 migrants with criminal histories attempting to enter the country illegally through El Paso this week. The migrants detained by BPS were convicted sex offenders, child predators and drug traffickers, BPS said in a statement.

America's southern border and illegal immigration have been a core focus of the 2024 presidential election, as voters from even-distant swing states rank it among their top priorities.

Senate Republicans — led by Sen. James Lankford (R-OK) — worked out an immigration bill that paired aid for Ukraine with tighter border measures. The bill would have made it easier for President Joe Biden to speed deportation of arriving immigrants who are not eligible for asylum.

However, Republicans tanked the bill after attacks by former President Donald Trump, who was seen as not wanting to hand Biden a win on a potent campaign issue. Biden has said he would sign an aggressive immigration bill, and has called on Congress to pass new laws.
