Judge rejects Trump lawyer’s attempt to 'discredit' Michael Cohen's testimony: report

Two weeks after former President Donald Trump's ex-lawyer Michael Cohen testified in the MAGA hopeful's ongoing New York civil fraud trial, according to The Messenger's Adam Klasfeld, Trump's lead counsel Christopher Kise argued Thursday, "Cohen's allegations that Trump gave his directives like a 'mob boss' cannot be credited."

Kise's efforts to dissolve New York Attorney General Letitia James' case against his client come just one day after she concluded her case-in-chief against Trump Wednesday.

Klasfeld reports pointing to Trump, Kise told presiding Judge Arthur Engoron, "This is not someone who speaks in code."

The judge replied, "I think the 'perfect' call with [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelenskyy about the military aid might have been code,' agreeing that the ex-president's Ukraine scandal that led to his 2019 impeachment "would not play a role in his final ruling," Klasfeld notes.

According to the report, further pushing his argument, Kise added, "There's no victim. There's no complainant. There's no injury. All of that is established now."
