Conservative Jonah Goldberg on Tuesday had a warning for Republicans who believe that President Donald Trump's mass pardon of violent January 6th rioters will fade away from the news.
During a panel segment on the pardons, Goldberg slammed both former President Joe Biden and Trump for enacting what he described as "flatly indefensible" pardons on Monday.
Biden issued a sweeping pardon for members of his entire family on his way out the door while Trump pardoned multiple violent felons who attacked a coequal branch of government on his behalf four years ago.
"Both Biden's and Trump's are going to have unbelievable moral hazard, knock-on effects and set terrible precedents going forward," said Goldberg, who went so far as to say it's time to think about revoking presidential pardon powers to protect against such abuses.

Later in the panel, Republican strategist Brad Todd acknowledged that Trump's pardon of violent criminals was problematic but he expressed hope that Trump had now gotten his obsession with the deadly January 6th riots "out of his system" so that he could now focus on the future.
Goldberg, however, called this incredibly naive.
"[Trump] would much rather get positive attention than negative attention, but he'll take negative attention over no attention any day," he said. "So he will create many, many, many more moments that create bowel-stewing panic for Republican candidates, trying to figure out what to say."
