Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign is using one of former President Donald Trump's biggest debate blunders against him in a new multimillion-dollar ad campaign.
NBC News reports that Harris is using Trump's claim that he has the "concepts of a plan" to replace the Affordable Care Act against him in new ads that highlight the danger repealing the ACA would pose to Americans with preexisting conditions.
In his first term, Trump and Congressional Republicans tried and failed to repeal and replace the ACA, although Trump still has not given up on repeal entirely despite polls showing that the proposed Republican replacement plan from 2017 was a politically toxic proposal that the Congressional Budget Office estimated would have thrown tens of millions of Americans off their health insurance.

Although Trump has not stopped pledging to repeal the health care law, he has still not proposed anything resembling a coherent plan despite having had years to do so.
Given this, the Harris campaign believes that he's vulnerable with voters who are worried about access to health care.
“Being president is about who you fight for. Every time Donald Trump opens his mouth and says ‘health care,’ he makes clear that he’s only out there for himself and his wealthy friends — not the tens of millions of seniors, Medicaid recipients, and Americans with preexisting health conditions that know the Affordable Care Act is a lifeline,” Harris campaign communications director Michael Tyler said.
