A supporter of former President Donald Trump hinted to The Atlantic's McKay Coppins that she believes pro-MAGA elements within the United States military will rise up to help him become president again.
While covering a recent Trump rally in Iowa, Coppins talked with a woman named Kris who said she believed that the 2020 election had been stolen and that Trump was covertly working with the American military to ensure that it didn't happen again in 2024.
"I think behind the scenes he maybe is doing a little more than what we know about," the woman said of Trump.
Coppins then asked her to elaborate on this.

“Military-wise,” she replied. “The military is supposed to be for the people, against tyrannical governments... I hope he’s guiding the military to be able to step in and do what they need to do. Because right now, I’d say government’s very tyrannical.”
Coppins writes that she then explicitly said that "the Trump-sympathetic elements of the military might need to seize control" should the Democrats "steal" the 2024 election from Trump.
Many supporters of the QAnon conspiracy theory believed that the military would step in during President Joe Biden's inauguration to arrest everyone in attendance, but that never occurred.
