Ex-Trump aide taunts him for ducking second Harris debate: 'Lost his fighting spirit'

Donald Trump made it clear that he has no intention of participating in another debate after his poor performance against Kamala Harris — and now one of his former aides is mocking him for it.

Ex-campaign adviser and short-lived White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci told CNN last week that Trump wouldn't be able to resist and would do another debate.

On Monday, "The Mooch" confessed he may have been wrong.

"I have to confess that I got this wrong about Trump. I thought it was a ruse that he didn’t want to debate by President Harris, but it appears that he’s actually lost his fighting spirit. There is something wrong. Not exactly sure what it is," he posted on the social media site X.

The Harris campaign announced it would launch billboards ridiculing Trump for refusing to do another debate before the November election. It also intends to have a person dressed as a chicken following the Trump campaign, NBC News reported.

During his North Carolina rally Saturday, Trump said he would "love" to do another debate.

"The problem with another debate is that it’s just too late. Voting has already started," he claimed.

Trump did debates later than Sept. 23 in 2016 and again in 2020.

“It wasn’t so long ago that Donald Trump boasted he’d debate ‘anytime, anywhere,’ but after Vice President Kamala Harris held him to account for his failures as president and dangerous second term agenda in their first debate, it’s no surprise Trump’s turned chicken — too scared to face the music again," said Abhi Rahman, the Democratic Party's deputy communications director.
