U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts issued an order Wednesday allowing a stay after an appeals court ordered it was unlawful for President Donald Trump to fire two federal agency heads, Cathy Harris and Gwynne Wilcox.
The order Wednesday came after all judges on a federal appeals panel ruled in favor of reinstating the women.
Wilcox was a member of the National Labor Relations Board, and Harris served on the Merit Systems Protection Board.

Litigation will continue in the case at the Supreme Court.
'The lawsuit uses a 1935 precedent called Humphrey’s Executor," explained MSNBC's Jordan Rubin. The rule "has protected independent agency members. The decision was called out for targeting in Project 2025, and the Trump administration said it wants it reversed."
Politico's Kyle Cheney noted that, at this point, the two have been "Fired. Unfired. Re-fired. Re-unfired. Re-re-fired."
